Official Opening

The official opening of PALM Expo 2006 at China International Exhibition Centre (CIEC) kicked off with a fashion show with Chinese beauties, showcasing the latest revolutionary musical instruments (which are exhibited in the MI segment of PALM Expo).

This prestigious event was graced by Mr Ai Qing Chun, Chairman, China's Technological Association of Performing Equipment, and many other prominent Chinese officials, and IIR’s Chief Executive, Mr Peter Rigby. Attended by a huge audience made up of exhibitors and visitors alike, colorful balloons and booming music provided by the outdoor exhibitors gave the atmosphere a carnival-like atmosphere.

Mr Peter Rigby, in his opening speech, announced the growth of PALM Expo from a 5,000 square metres event to the massive size of 68,000 square metres it is today – an increase of 14 times since its inception in 1992. PALM Expo also celebrates its 15th anniversary this year. With its commitment to the industry and to our co-organizers, IIR is committed to playing an active role of bridging business to business for this region and upholding PALM Expo as an internationally recognized trade event and keeping its track record as the most important industry event of its kind in China.
